Ed Arguelles is the founder of API Initiative. He has over 20 years of experience in working with disadvantaged and disconnected youth. As a former instructor for the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), he taught career-tech education to young adult and high school teens at Regional Occupational Centers and provided opportunities for them to become self-sufficient. He also has proven experience in developing and implementing community campaigns using SMS, text and other 21st century marketing as well as producing large mainstream and cultural events attracting thousands of all-age audiences. Ed serves as a Director for Prime Motivation, a non-profit organization promoting career-tech education and on the Board of Directors for the Chula Vista Police Foundation that provides funding for training, programs and specialized equipment to ensure a safer Chula Vista.
