
Alicia DeLeon-Torres has 25+ years of local, national and international experience in working with Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities to develop creative, culturally competent and accessible solutions to evolving issues. Her resume includes the creation of diverse array of programs and curriculums for youth and families – and moving them to “best practice.” She developed the first culturally specific Filipino youth suicide prevention curriculum in the state of California. Alicia is also a national trainer for gang prevention and intervention, and international trainer for substance abuse prevention and coalition building. She currently serves on the Honorary Philippine Consul Advisory Board and the San Diego Union-Tribune’s Community Advisory Board. Her past board/commission duties include the California State Attorney General’s Civil Rights Commission on Hate Crimes, City of San Diego Commission on Gang Prevention and Intervention, and the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority Art Committee.
